There Is No Dog

Author: Meg Rosoff

What if god were a teenage boy? Enter Bob, greasy, self obsessed and sex mad teenage god. Due to a gambling incident, he was thrown a dead end job on the new found planet, Earth. After six days of inspirational (although slightly crude) creation and a little input from his slightly more reliable deputy, Mr B. Bob quickly lost intrest in Earth's running, leaving countries in peril and not caring one bit.

Meanwhile, the most perfect girl in the world, Lucy, prays for love as something to add to her already brilliant life. Usually lazy Bob smells the prayer and longs to answer it... personally.

Last time Bob fell in love, disaster struck. Let us pray that Bob doesn't fall in love with Lucy.

This story is most definetely genius. As the plot progresses you realise how probable the idea of a teenage god is. It just all makes sense. It is fairly light hearted although it has some intense patches. I would highly reccomend this book and it's definetely up there with one of the best books I've ever read.
